Aimbridge Hospitality and Grupo Hotelero Prisma begin expansion in Mexico

Aimbridge Hospitality, the multi-brand hotel operator, will assume ownership of Grupo Hotelero Prisma, a multi-brand operator in the Mexican market.

With this acquisition, Aimbridge Hospitality will obtain the Prisma team, as well as the management of 42 properties with more than 7,500 rooms throughout the country, including Westin Monterrey, JW Marrio Monterrey Valle, JW Marrio Guadalajara and Tribute Tulum.

Transformational growth

This acquisition follows the transition of Aimbridge co-founder Dave Johnson from CEO to CEO, in which he set out to build the company’s transformational growth.

“We are honored to incorporate the portfolio of Grupo Hotelero Prisma and its incredibly talented team of like-minded and dynamic professionals,” said Dave Johnson, CEO of Aimbridge Hospitality.

“The continued expansion of Aimbridge and its alliances with the world’s leading hospitality brands has been a priority for us from the beginning. This new relationship puts us on the path to successful expansion in a hitherto unexplored market. “

Grupo Hotelero Prisma increases its portfolio

It should be noted that Grupo Hotelero Prisma has constantly increased its portfolio, through alliances with large hotel groups such as InterContinental Hotel Group, Wyndham Hotel Group, Marrio International and Hilton Worldwide.

It also has a number of properties operated by Mexican national brands such as Casa Grande and Ex Hacienda San Xavier.

“We are very excited to start an important relationship with FIBRA INN (FINN), the most important hotel REIT in Mexico. In addition to continuing to operate FINN’s prestigious and substantial portfolio through this acquisition, we are delighted to work together to expand our presence across a broad spectrum of the Mexican market, ”said Mike Deitemeyer, CEO, Aimbridge Hospitality.

Leandro Castillo, CEO of Grupo Hotelero Prisma, will report directly to Aimbridge Hospitality CEO Mike Deitemeyer, who assumed the role during Dave Johnson’s transition to CEO

Since its inception 18 years ago, Aimbridge has grown globally from its original portfolio of just eight properties to a portfolio of more than 1,500 branded and independent properties in 20 countries and more than 60,000 employees.
