InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Inmobiliaria Sky de Yucatán and Grupo Hotelero Prisma carried out the official opening of the new Holiday Inn & Suites Mérida La Isla hotel. Jorge Apáez, COO Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean of IHG, said that the chain hotel has remained a leader in the hospitality industry thanks to its recognized brands, its IHG Rewards Club rewards program and the constant growth it has had in the country.

The ceremony was led by Jorge Apáez, who together with Michelle Fridman Hirsch, head of the Yucatan Tourism Development Secretariat (SEFOTUR) and Elizabeth Ramírez Valladares, COO of Grupo Hotelero Prisma; among others, they carried out the ceremonial act of cutting the ribbon, in front of the special guests.
Holiday Inn & Suites Mérida La Isla is located in the Premium Zone of the city at Calle 24 No. 31044 Temozón Norte. Located within the Cabo Norte residential development, the area features the Plaza La Isla Malltertainment entertainment center, which includes a lake, green spaces and gardens, department stores, jewelry and specialty stores, and a wide variety of restaurants and family entertainment areas.

The hotel has 93 well appointed rooms, modern in design with comfortable high quality king size beds or two queen size beds with a choice of firm or soft pillows for a comfortable rest. Each room also features a 43-inch HDTV, minibar, coffeemaker with complimentary coffee, and a desk with ergonomic chair. All rooms have views of the city or Plaza La Isla Malltertainment.

Additional amenities offered by the hotel include a fitness center, 24-hour business center, two levels of free underground parking for all guests. The Estelar meeting room is designed to host up to 100 people for a small event in auditorium style.
There is additional meeting space, with two small meeting rooms: Polar and Crux. The terrace is perfect for cocktails and more informal gatherings for up to 70 people. Inside the hotel, the Andrómeda restaurant and the Orión Lobby Bar offer a fusion of regional and international dishes. Children eat free when accompanied by an adult consuming for breakfast, lunch and dinner à la carte.
